There is another offshoot of our government, also influenced by corporate america, and this would be referred to as the shadow government, our secret government that makes up so much of our military budget. I don't know all the ties between the corporations and them but I know the government part needs tons of money so its there. And even if it is slightly off the topic it is very much on topic in terms of the patriotism and blind american aspect. I've already posted twice or so with this theme, but it is so disturbing to me that I cannot help but post more. All the righteous ideals and beliefs of the Good America are in shambles to me now. I have never trusted our government but jesus, I had no idea the extent of our outright "evil" ways. From what I have heard and learned (and I can't know anything for sure), there is more than enough to be taking a much closer look at our government and its innerworkings. It is the obligation of the American people to be dealing with these types of issues but quite frankly we are so in the dark, so expendable, and far too complacent to do so. There are many voices who do speak out, but once they meat threat status, they end up dead. We are being bamboozeled no doubt, and not just by corporations, which I can't discern corporations from the government anymore anyway. Our "national security" is more to hide info from the nation than anything else, you think we need to hide info from the people we bomb, they know we bomb them, its the American people that don't know 90% of the time. I thought the list of stuff I found and posted on that one thread was bad, it was just our dealings with Iraq, all these other things the CIA has done is just, too much for my little brain to wrap around, I don't know how we get away with it all, well, actually, the topic of this thread is part of the answer. We are not hated out of jealousy as we would so often tend to think, we are hated because we deserve it. As long as my info is true (testimony from former top CIA officials who came out), than that is simply a sad fact, one that only the people of the world and or america can fix, and its the people of the world taking action when it should be us (and we should be listening). We have slaughtered so many innocent people by our hands and more often by the hands of people we train, its not even funny. And I mean innocents, civilians, men women and children, specifically bombing food production, sanctions that prevent real aid to the innocent, chemical biological weapons use by us and or our temporary allies that we end up trying to kill later after we get what we want from them, Iraq not about oil, wake the fuck up, and fast. Its all about oil. Don't decieve yourselves, find the info I have, look for yourselves then decide. This is too much and far too serious to look away or disregard. Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what to do about it other than to learn more, discern fact from fiction, and ask and or tell others to do the same, if what I have learned is true, than you can trust me when I say you WILL feel differently about this war in Iraq, and about what we need to do about our government/corporations. I know I'd like to be able to trust our government, to believe we do these things for good, but common sense has always plagued me and things have always seemed a bit off, like I said in another post, if we know politicians lie, do we think that changes once they take office? If we know corporations will puposely make things break, even killing people when they do, do we really think they are looking out for us? If we know power at all costs, money, and lies is the current american moto, I ask us, is that ok with us, because don't forget that means no matter who we have to step on or kill, even our own people. Just because we want to believe our governments good, doesn't mean it is. This may seem irrelevant to people, but that is only because people don't know what to do about it, and they are far too comfortable (even in misery) to want to or even think they can do anything about it. Plus, we are working far too hard for far too little, especially in the blue collar world to have the time or energy or voice to do anything about it. Plus we are bombarded by the notions that nothing is wrong and that we are wrong to question (unpatriotic), and that questions (even if not considered wrong) are not supported by enough facts or the government has deemed them unsubstantial or wrong, and they are right to some extent, the extent that has our populus is so ignorant to what our government even does. To the point where things have come out, maybe one or two people get in trouble and then its forgotten. Its astounding, terrifying, and all on our shoulders, the world abroad that attacks our citizens is attacking our government, our ignorance, we are the government, at least we are supposed to be, so we cannot be let off, we need to stand up to these liars when they dodge tough questions, when we feel uninformed, when we feel wronged. Or else WE the people shall pay for our governments deeds. Think about this. What we know (to the point where it has become cliche' We cannot trust the government, yet we let them manipulate us and do whatever they want We cannot trust the corporations, yet we let them manipulate us and do whatever they want We cannot trust the media, yet we allow them to manipulate us and do whatever they want We cannot trust ourselves, yet we continue to decieve ourselves and allow all this to happen. United we stand right? Are we united now? Do you even have a clue what the government is up to, what it has done in the past, I know much of the details of our past in history books all tends to point to us being right in all war situations, if it even covers them. That reeks of bullshit, as it should. I am not anti-america, I am anti-bullshit, and I don't see america much anymore, through all the bullshit. You know how they often refer to america as a sleeping dragon and the like, well, we the people are the sleeping dragon, and we need to wake up, like 50 years ago.
