New Site [+ favourites]

The new site is a bit confusing. Trying to locate it by IE Explorer is a mute process. I only hope you send a wire to all UG users advising them of the new address. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get here. There sre going to be some out there who will have more trouble.
Just a comment.

I should have specified, IE Explorer Favorites links. Sorry.

Yeah, I had problems trying to get to UG using my Bookmark and my Favorites link...I had to use the Teoma search engine to actually hook up to the new UGN! And blt is right, if regulars had problems finding UGN, how about some of the newer or less active members???
Perhaps e-mailing them with the updated link???

and i believe members who have opted to receive email updates will be informed of the new site.

I have email enabled and I never got an email about the new site and yes decius does need to send out a "users" manual for the new site.

It is hard to get around and find where every thing is.

It is a lot diffrent from the old site and with the way he set every thing up, I.E. the profiles, if decius hadnt told me where they were at it would have taken awhile to find them.

decius,

I am going to be sending out the e-mails to all the users sometime tomorrow. Didn't want to do it over the weekend or the first day it was launched because I knew I'd have to fix a lot of things.

Thanks Decius. The new site does look impressive, I must admit. It is a bit confusing however. I think it's probably because I'm used to the old one.

I find this site very interesting.....Not that it was getting in a rut or anything before but I see it improved vastly.....looking forward to the new experience....

Okay, I'll be the first to admit...I am lazy!...type an address when you can add it to your favorites???... type an address when - for me - it's much quicker to use a pull down screen and click on a link???
Perhaps it's because my old link always opened on the profiles page...but I corrected it and I'm not worried about missing my daily fix of the new UGN! I did notice that the new link is much faster loading..is it just me or has anyone else noticed that?

No, it's not just you Ronello. I've noticed it too. I am like you though, just click and bam, you're there. That's the way I like it. I too, have my browser re-set now for the new UGN. Not a bad site, just different from what we're all used to, but in time we'll all have it figured out.
Good job Dar.

I found the more you use this site the easier it is to navagate. It is like anything else new....it just talkes time and patience and I am sure everyone once they learn will like it a lot better. The only thing I miss is who's online but if you have friends added you can always go to the user index and see who is online. If you have friends (pout)

I think it's cool how I can change my profile. Now I think it shows everyone what I'm all about. And adding links? lol

There is one thing I miss about this site versus the old. That's the box to see who's online when I am. Maybe sometime in the future??
