Each And Every Little One. My, Our, None of the above. Their own. Their own. Alone in entrance, Alone in departure. Newcommers Visitors, welcomed guests. Residents of our home. "What are the rules?", they ask. I smile. "I don't know little one." A cheeky grin. And even a bigger smile. "Maybe you can tell me the rules." A wide eyed thought, A moment of reflection, Unhidden, unbiased. "Love!" I smile. "Yes, I think you're right little one." A big smile. "And Ice Cream." Laughter. When no one can see, A stern look falls upon me. The little visitor knows me better than I know myself. I am awed by you little one. I kneel before you With tears in my eyes. Take my hand little one. Help me see without these unclean eyes Help me see the world, As it exists, Within your heart. |
