A Calm Intensity

The world is so much more complicated than we think

We simplify for the simple thoughts and our perceptions of things

A two dimensional world where our fantasies come true based on a cosmetic depth

And when we reach out to grab it, it ends up being something much heavier

With a weight and memories, to learn that people are people

Not figments of our imagination

Or satisfactions of our desires.

People are people

People are people.

People are years old, not days or months.

And those memories span an infinite number of moments in time, with emotional weight

Not just what they look like, or smile at, or say or do.

But, what they are. So much more than the eyes see,

So much more than even they see.
